Rewrote the foundational whitepaper on decentralized exchange and automated market maker design with input from Bernard Lietaer. Helped articulate the economic logic of continuous liquidity — a concept that now underpins billions in digital asset volume and pioneered modern DeFi.

Qoin was a Netherlands-based agency for community currencies until evolving into Qoin Foundation in 2018. I helped set the direction for the new foundation and was the lead author of its ~80 page Investment Memorandum.

Launched 2015, peaked 2016 — Succeeded America's "oldest and largest local currency" Ithaca HOURS paper currency with a mobile-first digital payments platform. Led product strategy, community engagement, and technical implementation.
Organizer
Launched as part of the Holiday Hunger Games, a free downtown scavenger hunt designed to drive foot traffic to local businesses struggling with downtown construction during the holiday season. The City of Ithaca later won a $50,000 prize from a national organization of mayors to install related infrastructure, turning a seasonal campaign into lasting community-giving capacity.

America's "oldest and largest local currency" (since 1991) — led post-mortem analysis and digitization efforts initially on request of local grocery cooperative with substantial HOURS holdings.
